    Eugene Little League Closing Ceremonies

Saturday, June 16th, the Eugene Emeralds baseball team will host Eugene Little League at PK Park for our Closing Ceremonies extravaganza. The festivities will begin at 3pm at PK Park where we will be having a home-run derby contest out on the field for all kids in all of our divisions. Additionally, we will have a silent auction going that consists of gift baskets put together by each team and some other items from our community sponsors.  We will also have the Ems' Funzone setup so get ready for a great day and then a great night with the Ems.

    Home Run Derby/Silent Auction (3-5pm)

We will have the field setup to host home run derby for all of our kids from 3-5pm. The Tball and AA kids will be setup in the outfield up against the fence so they can get the feel of putting one of out the ballpark and the AAA/Majors kids will be on the main infield with a temporary fence setup.  We would ask that each coach stays with their team while on the field and helps our volunteers run your team through the setup. The 2 winners from each AAA/Majors baseball division and the 2 winners from the Majors/Juniors softball division will compete just prior to the Ems game on the main field with the whole crowd and teams watching!  :-) We will have a trophy for 1st and 2nd place in each division to be handed out at the conclusion of the Derby.

During the Home Run Derby, parents and guests will be able to peruse and bid on some amazing gift baskets that our teams put together in a silent auction. The silent auction will run from the start of Closing Ceremonies at 3pm up until the 4th or 5thth inning of the Ems game. Winners will be announced over the PA and on the JumboTron.

Night at the Ballpark with the Ems (5-10pm)

After our home-run derby finishes at 5pm, we will begin preparation of the on field parade of players. All teams need to be lined up and ready in the staging area outside of the outfield fence (we'll show you where to go) by 5:30pm. The parade will start at 6:05pm, followed by the Home-run derby finals. From there, we'll enjoy an awesome night of baseball as the Ems open their season. We will be partaking in most if not all of the between innings games/contests and we'll be randomly selecting those folks throughout the day. Those will be both players and coaches… :)  Also, one lucky T-baller will get to say "Play Ball" into the PA after the singing of the National Anthem, one kiddo will get to announce the batters for an inning...and the list goes on and on.

The ballpark will remain open so everyone that purchased tickets can make their way to their seats and take advantage of Happy Hour that will be available from 5-7 (Thanks Allan!!!).  From there, it’s a fun-filled evening with the Ems as they take on the Yakima Bears in their season opening series.

    The Details…

    1. All kids (unless they opted out of the fundraiser at registration) are required to sell 4 tickets to the Ems game that night, June 16th. The player on your team that sells the most tickets will get to run out on the field during starting lineups with an Ems player. The league's highest ticket seller will get to throw out the first pitch and we'll have other fun things for more kids that sell a lot of tickets. The goal is to have everyone on your team attend the Closing  Ceremonies and the Ems game that night and bring as many family and friends as possible. The more tickets we sell, the more money our League raises.
    2. There are 2 attachments. The first attachment is a flyer that the kids can print off to use when selling individual tickets to family, friends, etc. The 2nd attachment is a player sales sheet that tracks ALL of the individual players tickets.  We would encourage you to make a copy of your player's sales sheet prior to turning in your tickets sales order to your coach.
    3. All teams must put together a themed gift basket to be auctioned off at our silent auction. The silent auction will run from the start of Closing Ceremonies at 3pm up until the 6th inning of the Ems game. Winners will be announced over the PA and on the JumboTron.
    4. Step up, get involved, be a dedicated team parent or volunteer to be on the committee that is putting this thing on. Most importantly, encourage and help your kiddo get out there and sell tickets to this game as its our most important way to raise money each and every year.

The Ems are really doing it up for us this year so let's use this as an opportunity to finish off our season with a bang and have a great time raising some much needed money for our League.  The Board's goal is to raise $10,000 with this effort and we need your help to keep this on track. Encourage your kids to sell as many tickets as possible as we'd love to pack the stadium full of ELL players, coaches, parents, family and other supporters!!!!
